Why IT students in Nepal cannot get work experience or internships

Every week a BIT student messages a Kathmandu company: unpaid, eager, no URL. Every week the company wants someone who will not need a babysitter on git. Both are rational. Together they are a closed loop. The missing object is public work the intern already did. Without it, “experience” is a stamp nobody will risk.

That is why Nepalese GenZ are not getting IT jobs even when they graduate on time. Graduation is not experience. A leftover feature is.

Agencies need hands. Students need a letter. The deal is often: sit, watch, convert a landing, post on social. No review. No deploy rights. No name on a commit. Six months later the CV says “intern” and the GitHub is empty. Employers can smell that in one screen share. Real internships are listed as a government lever on what Nepal’s government should focus on for IT students.

Family companies put “IT intern” on paper. YouTube clones land as “full stack.” Neither survives a walkthrough. That is not morality theatre. It is why the next honest junior cannot get a desk: companies got burned. Public, small, and true beats a fake Amazon. Build the small thing via the IT learning path for Nepalese students.

Host a page for a local shop that never asked. Keep it up. Document the DNS. That is operations plus frontend plus a story. It is also how you enter how to become a frontend developer in Nepal without begging for a first stamp. Companies still gatekeep. Students can still arrive with proof.
